Finding Great Travel Bargains in and to Hawaii

With the slumping economy and many people fearing that their jobs may be lost, travel to the beautiful Hawaiian Islands has taken the worst decline since the beginning of the Great Depression. Hotel occupancy is down 60% over last year and travel industry revenues are down a whopping 20% over last year at this same time. As a result, if you are in a position to travel at the present time, there are tremendous deals to be had on everything from rental vehicles to hotel packages to even restaurant discounts.
With hotel occupancy on “life support,” many of the more luxurious resorts are offering packages that include one night’s stay free with the purchase of a six day stay. Some are offering rack rates that are as much as 50% lower than the price that was being offered just one year ago. Other hotels are including special  give-aways such as free meals or activity packages to lure travelers who can take advantage of record low rates. Discounts on such fun activities as whale watching, snorkeling, scuba diving, taking an island helicopter ride or a cruise are being offered at up to a 50% discount at some of the more popular island hot spots. Rates like this have never been offered at this level and make the cost for your stay in paradise a fantastic bargain.
As the economy recovers, prices this low will rise back to normal levels since Hawaii is a world-class destination popular with tourists from around the world. If you are in a position to take advantage of these record lows, now is the time to do it while your travel dollar goes further.  As you are sipping your Mai Tai and watching the sunset over the ocean in paradise, you will be glad you did!
