| Along Oahu’s north eastern shore you can find a 4,000 acre working cattle ranch called Kualoa Ranch. The ranch, located on what was once Hawaiian sacred ground, was purchased in 1850 from King Kamehameha III by Dr. G.P. Judd. The ranch is still in the family and is still a working cattle ranch today. Tours via Horseback and ATV are offered where you can explore the jungle trails, pass over rivers and breath-taking ravines and see dramatic waterfalls. In fact, spectacular Manawawpuna Falls, seen in the 1993 movie, Jurassic Park, is located on the grounds of Kualoa Ranch. Nearby Kualoa Beach Park is lovely and easily accessible from Hwy 83. From this beach, you can get a great view of Chinaman’s Hat Island located 614 yards off shore. The beach has restrooms, shaded areas and picnic tables. |
