While you are visiting the Arizona Memorial, be sure to stop by the Battleship, the USS Missouri harbored nearby and take a tour of the “Mighty Mo.” Put into service in 1944, near the end of WWII, she was decommissioned in 1955. The massive battleship is 887 feet long and weights over 100 million pounds.  There are various tours that take you to different parts of the ship so you can choose the tour that best accommodates your interests. Nearby is the USS Bowfin, a powerful sub, known as the Pearl Harbor Avenger, because she sank over 44 enemy ships during her service days. You can also tour this submarine to get a feel for what life was like below the surface. Be sure to stop by the Submarine Museum and take a peak at the displays of submariner history while you are here.
